Calling all successful Dwarf Gourami keepers.What are your secrets to keeping these beauties long term?

What about the following : % and frequencey of water changes, gravel cleaning, filter changing. Would a person perhapse clean MORE dilligently for tanks containing D.G.'s than you would normally? Maximum stocking or under stocking ; does this affect them? I understand that they require low lighting . Can it be TOO low? Input on these topics would be HIGHLY apprecciated. Thank you so much!

1. If you're having problems keeping dwarf gouramis, then do a quick search on "dwarf gouramis and iridovirus". Not sure if it's still prevalent among them, but it was awhile back.
2. You need to start with good stock, basically. A majority of the dwarfs you see in pet stores probably have an incurable disease called iridovirus. It'll kill them eventually no matter how well you care for them. If you can get hold of some wild fish, or some from a private breeder, provide them with soft, slightly acidic water and little current. Live plants and driftwood will also be appreciated.
